Immediately
prior to the Beer Hall Putsch of 8-9 Nov 1923, the economy in Germany was
in a disastrous state. Inflation was completely out of control making money
virtually worthless.
Although unemployment and inflation was affecting many countries, it was particularly
severe in Germany. This was due in part to the reparations imposed on Germany
by the victors of the First World War.
