Lisa Vincent recalls the signs in her village

Sound Transcript

When I came home that day in 1935 there was a beautiful Linden tree at the railway station and on this Linden tree was a sign, a wooden sign and it said Jews, Jews are not allowed to enter this village, and that was at the beginning of the village and at the other end of the village, and the Lord Mayor said, "Well, this is the reason you have to go, because we have put the bill board up that we want to clean the whole village of Jews, and since you are the only ones here, you and your mother you have got to go".
